The Closing Ceremony of “GUC Career Development Program” of 2017 (GET REAL!)

GUC campus witnessed the Closing Ceremony of the Career Development Program for year 2017 on Monday February 12, 2018 in presence of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mansour, the GUC Prime Founder and Chairman of Board of Trustees, to celebrate a 2-month achievement of intensive training & development activities for 209 senior GUC students.

The “Career Development Program” of 2017 (GET REAL!) is organized for the third year by the GUC SCAD – Student Career & Development – Office. And it is a comprehensive program designed to equip senior graduating students from all specializations: Media Engineering and Technology, Information Engineering and Technology, Engineering and Materials Science, Pharmacy and Biotechnology, Management Technology, Applied Sciences and Arts, with the self-understanding and necessary tools to establish a meaningful career and be prepared before joining the market.

The program lasted for two consecutive months covering 10 different activities: motivational speech by Mr. Mohamed Aboul Fotouh – MENA Consumer Engagement Senior Manager at PepsiCo; 31 CV critique workshops to give all participating students full critique about their professional resume ;3 Job hunting education sessions; 205 HR Mock interviews by professionals from the market in addition to 148 Technical Mock Interviews; 8 Panel Discussions by featured employers to give the participating students insights about 20 different industries to work in.

One of the remarkable activities in the program is the Roundtables discussions, where 26 GUC alumni from different backgrounds and areas of expertise passed on their knowledge to the students and gave back to their university. The program established rounds of interactive workshop about the psychology of performance.

The CDP 2017 was under the official partnership of PepsiCo and Unilever Mashreq, and the official sponsorship of Ernst & Young and Sumerge. With the support of another 40 multinational companies which participated in different tracks based on their interest and expertise.
